This seems like a very efficient strategy that doesn't cost a ton of elixir or dark elixir. Normally mixing air and ground troops doesn't mix well though. But starting out the balloons to attack defensive structures that the hogs would hit first and knocking them out. Then once all Bloons have clear a decent path to the TH unleash the hell riders and watch them do the damage while deploying heal spells. Finish up with wizards then boom

So, I am sure many of you have noticed, I have been working hard on this strategy. It is an advanced strategy and I think, takes a LOT of practice. If you don't get it just right you will likely get a 1 star at best. If you get to be efficient with it, you can 3 star most bases. I am here to share some of my findings.
Almost every video I have seen of this attack is against the perfect HoLoWi base. That base is one that is very spread out. It has all the air defense in the core of the base and the point defense towers spread out and often out of range of the air defense. I have yet to find this base. Maybe I will run into it as we continue to advance but for now, these are my findings base on my real world.
Also, I think this attack will be best when I am a th 9. Hogs and loons can both be maxed so they will be their most powerful. I am working on it at th 8 so I am at least competent with it when I get there.
I have been working hard on figuring out my perfect troop mix. It is important to find the right one. I may come back and edit this but in war attacks I have actually be using HoLoWiWi. I have been using 16 Hogs/15 Loons/10 Wiz/5 archers (may go to 1 more wizard)/2 witches in the cc.
I have been using witches (thanks Jeff) in my cc to kill the defensive cc troops. The great part about them is that you are bringing a constantly refreshing army. You could probably do it with a cc full of barbs and archers (which I do when doing practice raids) but the nice thing is that the witches survive killing the cc and can contribute to the fight. I have seen videos of people getting max hogs or loons in the cc, and I have tried both, but I found the witches to be the most efficient use of space to kill the cc.
The cc lure and kill is the hardest part of this attack. Most of the villages you will be hitting have 25 troops in them so getting them all out is the key. There are a couple ways to do it. You can bring a giant to just walk up to a wall, bang on it, and die. That seems like a waste of space. Second, you can send in a couple hogs to try to kill something and eventually die. That also seems like a waste. What I have found to be most effective is to use balloons as a lure. I am working on this part so I may come back with more info, but if you drop your loons to kill a defensive tower within range of the castle you can kill two birds with one stone. Your loons will die eventually anyhow. That is just part of this attack. But you can use their death to lure. I have seen lots of videos do their entire loon drop before luring but I am not very good at that yet (working on it) So, you drop all of your loons to kill their target, out comes the cc, your loons die, and then you anchor with an archer to draw the cc for a kill. Not as easy as it sounds.
Finally, with normal hog rides I see a lot of people split their forces. I was doing it till recently with my HoLoWiWi attacks. That means you end up with around 2 groups of 15 running. Well with HoLoWiWi you probably have about 15 hogs so I recommend not splitting your forces. Because you have cleared the path for the hogs with your loon drops (hopefully) your risks of hitting a giant bomb is way lower. Second reason for this is that you can keep the whole group healed better. Heal is really the only spell you are going to need with hogs because they are already fast and already strong so a rage is unneccessary. If you heal level 3 or higher hogs they can even survive a single giant bomb (double giant bomb and you are done). Especially at th 8, when you only have 3 spells, you need them to roll together.
I will keep updating this as I work on it. While doing it I can feel how powerful this attack will be when I get good at it. It is almost a guaranteed 3 stars if you evaluate the base correctly. It is just not easy to execute. Hopefully soon...
