All, some of us were discussing this on the chat earlier tonight and it is something that has been on my mind for the last couple weeks as we have been approaching the 50 member max. I think that the group has to decide which way they want to go and what they want from their clan in the future.
I see two options.
One, we close the clan and slowly bleed members. I think in this option our lower members that may not progress as quickly would be unable to attack eventually and would likely be forced to leave the clan.
Second option is to open a second clan, or feeder clan. This clan would be continue on very similar to the way our current clan has. It would be at a lower level members to grow and focus on improving. Higher level members that may not want to change at all and just want to continue along as things have been going would be there primarily as leaders.
What I envision for the main clan is a focus on improving and becoming a top notch clan. This clan will dedicate itself to learning more advanced tactics and working on becoming better at wars. Mass dragons are great but we are now getting to the point with many members that it will not be good enough for much longer. Base evaluation, strategic attacks, and more advanced troop mixes are going to be the focus. I would anticipate that this clan would be th 7 or higher only and around level 50 or higher or so.
So, issues that I for see we need to work out:
- Determining who wants to be part of which clan. I don't want to force anyone into any clan they don't want to be in so I want to give every one an option. But, if you determine that you want to be in the higher level clan, it will be focused on winning wars. It will be organized and we will be trying to push ourselves in new directions.
- Who is going to lead the feeder clan. I will be talking to all of the co-leaders about this to see if any of them have interest in making a permanent move. If none does then we need to figure out a rotation schedule. This may be a good way to rotate members out who are upgrading a hero.
- A big reason lower and second accounts join a clan is for high level troops in wars. This may be killing two birds with one stone by having a rotation of leaders going down to the second clan being members who can donate a lot of higher troops.
-How big do we want the main clan to be? I think that 30 sounds like a good starting point. We would then have two decent size clans.
I think that these issues are all workable but I want to see what everyone has to say. If you do not express your opinion on this, the clan leaders will be making a decision for you.
I would be willing to take the first week rotation in the new clan in order to get things set up since I have done this before.
